What Is The Red Nail Theory And Does It Truly Work?

Much like Vabbing, the red nail theory suggests that red nails are more likely to draw a man’s attention than any other nail colour. Robyn DelMonte, better known for her handle @girlbosstown was the first person to bring this to light. Now various women are making TikTok’s explaining whether or not it’s true for them.

What Is The Red Nail Theory?

Early this year @girlbosstown  made a TikTok explaining how she noticed that each time she had red nails she attracted more attention from men. She shared, ”Every time I have red nails, every single fucking time, a guy comments on it.” She also shares that she originally thought the color was a “grandma color” but that was until she started noticing all the attention she got. She theorized that men were attracted to red nails because they reminded them of their mums. “In the 90s when we were growing up, women had red nails a lot- especially our mums. And I weirdly think guys are attracted to red nails because it reminds them of their mums.” In her recent videos, she’s expanded on this theory a bit, explaining that it was also the color celebrities loved to use on their nails. “Guys are attracted to red nails because growing up, all of their first celebrity crushes, teachers, their first introduction to females back in the 90s always had red nails”.  Her recent videos on the theory have skyrocketed (which is how it has become a trend) as everyone wants to test out the theory to see if it actually works.

Does The Red Nail Theory Work?

There’s no true scientific study that can back Delmonte’s claim. However, the university of Rochester psychologists Daniela Niesta and Andrew Elliot conducted a study in 2008 that proves that the color red makes men feel more attracted to women. Also, various women have shared their experience with the trend on TikTok confirming that it does indeed work.  Would you be open to testing out the red nail theory?
